SORTIE NATURE - LE MONDE DES ORCHIDÉES À WITTRING

Michel Greff, nature-monitor and nature-photograph, offers you in partnership with the Tourist Office Sarreguemines Confluences, an outing in Wittring, one of the most lovely and picturesque village of the region, not far from Sarreguemines. Magnificent landscapes result from its geographic situation in a loop of the Sarre at the foot of the Rebberg hill. The aim of these nature-outings is to make you discover the fauna and flora of this hill. For this, you’ll use the Circuit des deux chapelles (Two-Chapels Trip), starting from one of them on the D33. This trip is perfectly organized for hiking and will permit you to discover many treasures of nature in Lorraine. A walk under a luxurious vegetation will permit you to admire the twining stem of the wild hop, impressive hawthorns and majestic wild cherry covered by ivy. From the Achen’s chapel, a charming place of reverence, you can admire the exceptional panorama on the Sarre valley and on the village of Wittring. You willwalk along a meadow with thousands of flowers, listed for many years for the exceptional quality of its flora. You could observe some wild flowers absolutely remarkable in spring as in summer, and foraging insects as much colourful.in the valley, you’ll see a flora with Mediterranean analogies that grows on the well-exposed bank, near the D33. Bilingual outing: explanations could be given in French and German, the names of the species you’ll see could be given in French, German and Latin.
